Joint Working Site Audit List & Current Work Programme Action

heritage

The following download is a current list of designated sites which have been found to have features in unfavourable condition, where grazing of trampling impacts were one of the factors contributing to the unfavourable assessment. The list includes sites where the impacts are attributable to wild deer either on their own or in combination with other herbivores. The list will continue to be updated as sites are monitored again as part of the second cycle of site condition monitoring.

The list also includes sites that are now subject to Joint Agency working to address these herbivore impacts. The current work programme shows sites where agencies, landowners and deer managers are working closely together to meet natural heritage condition targets . Often more detailed survey work is required to establish the nature and distribution of these impacts and is carried out when sites first join the Joint Working programme. Sometimes the problems can be addressed by small adjustments to management practices.
